Day For Night Festival
Artist Feature with Ekene Ijeoma
We traveled to Houston, TX for Day For Night Festival to document Artist Ekene Ijeoma as he brings to life Deconstructed Anthems, a music composition, jazz performance, and light installation, that transforms the Star–Spangled Banner into a social barometer which responds to the state of mass incarceration, racial inequality, and the "American Dream".
Day For Night Festival is an annual music and art festival that explores the deep connections between light, technology, sound and space.
The Deconstructed Anthems performances featured Emmy-winning composer/pianist Kris Bowers (Dear White People), trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire (Blue Note), Grammy-nominated bassist Burniss Earl Travis (13th), and a self-playing piano.
