Torkwase Dyson for The Drawing Center
Our team was tapped by The Drawing Center, a museum in Manhattan's SoHo district, to capture the creative and thought process of abstract artist, Torkwase Dyson in celebration of the museum's very first Winter Term and Dyson's open studio-style installation—The Wynter-Wells Drawing School for Environmental Justice. Dyson creates work fueled by her curiosity around the way in which global warming affects marginalized, and particularly, black communities. We spent time learning about Dyson's process, and the intention behind this installation/school of thought.
The Drawing Center explores the medium of drawing as primary, dynamic, and relevant to contemporary culture, the future of art, and creative thought.
